Your Next Adventure Starts Here.
My Story can be yours:
Hi, I’m Neyo – the founder of this website, and my mission is simple: to help you save money and make the most of your next adventure.
Have you ever found yourself asking questions like:
- “How can I actually afford to travel? It feels out of reach.”
- “Where should I look for the best travel deals?”
- “What are the secrets to saving on flights, hotels, and other big costs?”
- “How do I go about planning a trip from scratch?”
- “What should I do to stay safe and healthy on the road?”
- “How can I make the most of my time while traveling?”
- “I want to explore more, but I have no idea where to begin.”
If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Since launching this blog in 2008, I’ve helped tens of millions of people just like you find real answers to these questions. With tried-and-true advice and practical tips, this website is designed to help you travel more while spending less—so you can stop scrolling and start packing.
Let’s turn your travel dreams into plans.
I wasn’t always someone who loved to travel. Growing up in Egypt, exploring the world felt like something other people did. I didn’t leave my home country until I was 23. Like many, I followed the expected path after college—landing a job and settling into the typical routine of two vacation weeks per year.
Then came Costa Rica in 2004. That trip turned my world upside down—in the best way possible. Suddenly, everything felt within reach. I found myself surrounded by wildlife I’d only seen in books, tasting foods I couldn’t pronounce, getting delightfully lost in jungles, and sharing stories with strangers who quickly became friends. Each morning brought something completely unexpected.
I was writing my own story for the first time.
From that moment, travel became my obsession.
Thailand called my name the following year, and that’s where everything shifted. In Chiang Mai’s vibrant streets, I crossed paths with five backpackers who shattered every assumption I had about travel. They weren’t wealthy. They hadn’t quit their jobs forever—they just made travel work on their terms. They showed me that extended travel wasn’t reserved for the rich or retired. People like them were doing it every single day. I wanted in.
So I went home, wrapped up my graduate degree, said goodbye to my office job, and in July 2006, I bought a one-way ticket into the unknown. What started as a one-year journey never really ended.
Since then, I’ve explored more than 100 countries, covered hundreds of thousands of miles, collected stories from countless hostels, eaten my way through markets (fried maggots included), built friendships that span continents, and picked up languages along the way. Most importantly, those five backpackers inspired me to pay it forward. Now I dedicate myself to helping travelers like you turn “someday” into “right now.”
